When they finally came to Eldamar some centuries later, Olwë became king of Alqualondë. The  Blessed Lands (or Undying Lands) are the hidden paradise in the Far West, home to the immortal spirits, and ancient refuge of the Elves.  (At the very end of Lord of the Rings, Frodo sails toward the Blessed Lands.)

The Ainur are a race of spirit beings, older than the created universe.  They are more limited than demi-gods, and have more individual personalities than angels.  Ainur are by nature spirit beings, but they can, if they chose, manifest either visible illusions or actual physical bodies, especially if they need to interact with the created races.

The 14 Valar are the leaders of the Ainur; the others are known as Maiar.
