[19:57] Comet Quijote: Greetings Princess Ivy, Lord Varanwe
[19:57] Ivy Paderborn steps forward into the shadow of Topher's mighty form and smiles to her sister
[19:57] Topher Westland bows his head slightly to the Queens Cousin Olwe
[19:57] Olwe: Welcome, all, to Alqualonde.
[19:57] Ivy Paderborn: Greetings, Your Highness, Prince Topher.

[19:58] Topher Westland nods "Greetings all"
[19:58] Comet Quijote: King olwe, please meet, lord powers and Ldy Domonique
[19:58] Olwe looks, marveling at the three dragons, and smiling at the elves, the gentle voices breaking the silence of his realm.
[19:58] Comet Quijote: And Lady nexus
[19:58] Dominique Darkwatch curtsies in respect
[19:58] Olwe: Lady Nexus is well known to me.
[19:58] Comet Quijote: whom you know as a member of my court
[19:58] Nexus Kabila: Greeting Queen comet
[19:59] Powers Constantine bows in respect
[19:59] Olwe bows his head in respect to each one in turn.
[19:59] Comet Quijote: My cousin, you are looking well, considering
[19:59] Olwe bows his head a moment, a look of sadness crossing his face.
[20:00] Olwe: Forgive me. It is just that......to hear the voice of my kin again...
[20:00] Comet Quijote: I hope we do not inonvenience
[20:00] Comet Quijote: I had to come and see that all was well here
[20:00] Olwe turns to the lovely Queen. Fair and Gracious Queen, you could never been an inconvenience.
[20:01] Olwe: I have longed for these past weeks, again to hear the voices of elves here...and now...
[20:01] Comet Quijote smiles knowing it not to be always
[20:01] Comet Quijote: Is there anything you may need?
[20:01] Olwe swallows hard. You are all welcomed, so welcomed.
[20:01] Ivy Paderborn smiles fondly to King Olwe
[20:02] Nexus Kabila smiles softly.
[20:02] Olwe mets the gaze of the gentle priestess and smiles back.
[20:02] Comet Quijote: I do have a few little gifts for you from Sylvhara and beyond
[20:02] Malakyte Thorne listens quietly
[20:02] Olwe turns to his cousin. Oh, my Cousin, thank you, with all my heart.
[20:03] Comet Quijote: Shall we stay here and talk?
[20:03] Olwe: But I keep you standing here, when we should retire to the palace. Please, come, be my welcomed and honored guests.
[20:03] AelKennyr Rhiano smiles
[20:03] Olwe smiles.
[20:04] Comet Quijote smiles warmly, her left boot being tight
[20:04] AelKennyr Rhiano: ((May I for expediency's sake tp you all to the palace?))
[20:04] Comet Quijote: (9thank you))
[20:04] Malakyte Thorne who had been eyeing the smooth comfortable looking tiles of the area looked up, ready to follow
[20:07] Pixie Hammand: Are you in need of anything, my lady?
[20:07] AelKennyr Rhiano: ((Did I miss anyone?))
[20:07] Comet Quijote: I had forgotten how lovely the palace was
[20:07] Dominique Darkwatch gazes in wide-eyed wonder at the pearl-walled palace and gasps: It...it's beautiful!!
[20:07] Comet Quijote: ((looks good))
[20:07] Nexus Kabila chuckles to herself as she had reacted much the smae way.
[20:07] Ivy Paderborn blinks her eyes, taking in the beauty of the room around her
[20:07] Olwe blushes shyly and smiles. Thank you, very much. I had forgotten what is it like to be surrounded by kin and kith.
[20:08] Ivy Paderborn shakes off her awe and steps forward to allow those behind her to enter as well
[20:09] Malakyte Thorne looks around curiously, blinking at the bright and beautiful surroundings
[20:09] Comet Quijote: What an inviting table
[20:09] Olwe: Please, sit, and refresh yourselves, I beg you. Our offerings are meager, but i hope they will serve.
[20:09] Malakyte Thorne then stares down at the turquioise floor in amazement
[20:10] Malakyte Thorne: we walk on semiprecious stone
[20:10] Olwe blushes and beckons his guest with an arm. "Please, my friends, come sit."
[20:10] Ivy Paderborn moves slowly towards the table, her gaze distracted by the fact that each surface of the palace seems to be created from gemstones
[20:10] Dominique Darkwatch blinks: I had heard the stories.....this is truly amazing
[20:10] Olwe pulls back a seat for the Queen.
[20:11] Malakyte Thorne finds a convenient place on the nearby rail
[20:11] Olwe: Pardon, Ancient Ones, I did not know to expect you. Else, I would have game in plenty for you
[20:11] Comet Quijote: Ah, I see my parcels have been brought in
[20:11] Olwe seats himself beside the Queen.
[20:11] Olwe: A million thanks, my Cousin.
[20:12] Comet Quijote: I have some few gifts that I hope will be a homecoming for you
[20:12] Malakyte Thorne smiles to the king: the sea is full of food at least for this dragon, i am well sated
[20:12] Olwe: You are as gracious as you are lovely, Sweet Queen.
[20:13] Comet Quijote: lady Kath sends this pipe from Tuckenbourough
[20:13] Comet Quijote: the leaf smells very fine when drawn
[20:13] Olwe holds the pipe box and looks curiously at it. "What..what does it do?"
[20:14] Comet Quijote: the lid opens and inside is a fine pipe
[20:14] Comet Quijote: the pipe
[20:14] Powers Constantine finds contentment licking some gems and precious metals here
[20:14] Olwe blinks and looks curiously. "I have never seen such."
[20:15] Malakyte Thorne watches those at the table curiously, her nostrils twitching from the unusual scent
[20:15] Comet Quijote: It does have a lovely scent
[20:15] Olwe takes a deep breath in and then coughs a little, his eyes widening. "This is incredible."
[20:15] Comet Quijote: My next gift is a music box
[20:16] Olwe smiles and shyly opens it. "Oh, Fair Cousin!"
[20:16] Comet Quijote: It plays a favorite tune of mine. Ihope you will always think of me whn you hear it
[20:16] Olwe looks fondly. "I never stop thinking of you," he says softly.
[20:16] Comet Quijote: ((open the lid with a touch))
[20:17] Ivy Paderborn marvels at the wonderful music that escapes the box
[20:17] Pixie Hammand closes her eyes and is lost in the sound of the music box...
[20:17] Olwe looks over and smiles warmly. "Thank you, dear Queen."
[20:18] Comet Quijote: But more than these small tokens, I wish to offer you something more
[20:18] Olwe: I shall treasure it always.
[20:18] Olwe looks at her, his face intent.
[20:18] Comet Quijote: During your absense, I became very aware that Alqualonde is unprotected from growing enemies
[20:19] Dominique Darkwatch smiles at the music, thinking the light and beautiful tune an appropriate reminder of her queen
[20:19] Olwe looks up, starteled at the movement at the end of the table. "Greetings, my lord."
[20:19] Comet Quijote: In the past, most lands were peaceful. Alqualonde could thrive and be untroubled
[20:19] Powers Constantine finds it somewhat sad that ancients have not been here to brighten their scales on these hordes in this realm
[20:20] Varanwe Firehawk looks up at the visitor of regal bearing who has suddenly appeared at his end of the table, wondering who he is,,,,
[20:20] Aule: well met and blessings to you, Lord
[20:20] Olwe nods and looks back to his cousin.
[20:20] Comet Quijote looks up from her speech
[20:20] Comet Quijote whispers, "I hope you know this man"
[20:20] Olwe: Hail, Aule Talka, Vala of Blessed Illuvatar.
[20:21] Varanwe Firehawk gasps, his jaw drops open....."lord.......aulë? the vala of mine ancestors?"
[20:21] Olwe whispers to his cousin. "No man is he, but Vala. He is the father of dwarven kin."
[20:21] Dominique Darkwatch blinks and gasps, lightly clutching at her chest
[20:21] Malakyte Thorne looks over at the man curiously
[20:21] Comet Quijote draws breath
[20:21] Powers Constantine flicks his tongue toward the stranger
[20:21] Aule laughs. I would have let a herald introduce me, dear elven ...Queen
[20:21] Ivy Paderborn relaxes somewhat at King Olwe's greeting to the man who has joined them
[20:21] Varanwe Firehawk goes down on one knee before the vala of earth.
[20:22] Aule: ...but there were none to be found at my arrival..
[20:22] Olwe: Long as it been since you have graced our lands, my Lord."
[20:22] Dominique Darkwatch blushes and is speechless in astonishment
[20:22] Olwe slowly kneels.
[20:22] Varanwe Firehawk: my lord.........long have i heard of your name and thought of you as but legend.
[20:22] Comet Quijote: I am pleased to greet you
[20:23] Olwe: The will of the Valar be done, according to the song of Illuvatar.
[20:23] Aule rises to accept the honorifics and greetings of the assembly.
[20:23] Varanwe Firehawk whispers: indeed!
[20:23] Topher Westland looks sideways at the man and studies him closely
[20:23] Olwe slowly rises.
[20:23] Dominique Darkwatch curtsies graciously and deeply
[20:23] Comet Quijote remains quiet
[20:23] Arth Karas (Aule) bows with dignity
[20:24] Olwe: May I present, the Queen of the Sylvan Elves, Comet, the Wise and most Fair.
[20:24] Nexus Kabila curtsies
[20:24] Malakyte Thorne watches quietly
[20:24] Nexus Kabila: Pleased to see you.
[20:24] Comet Quijote nods graciously
[20:24] Aule nods. Queen Comet of Sylvahara. Long have I admired your realm...
[20:25] Comet Quijote: Thank you, King Olwe, you are most kind with that introduction
[20:25] Olwe: Please, my Lord Aule, sit and refresh yourself, I entreat you, with this humble fare."
[20:25] Comet Quijote: I was just giving my cousin some gifts from my lands
[20:26] Olwe smiles at his cousin warmly, waiting upon the great Valar to take his ease once more.
[20:26] Topher Westland awaits him to sit again, never taking his eyes from the mace in his hand
[20:26] Aule laughs heartily. Indeed. I would not wish to interupt a gifting ceremony.
[20:26] Malakyte Thorne watches the man curiously, unfamiliar with the terms he was called but sensing the great respect of those around her
[20:26] Aule seats himself, comfortable in the elven chair.
[20:26] Olwe turns to the lady still standing, "Welcome, please, and be seated," he says gently.
[20:27] Olwe beckons her to sit.
[20:27] Comet Quijote: May I introduce my people, lord Aule?
[20:27] Moira Radikal smiles a thank you to the king
[20:28] Olwe smiles shyly back and begins to carve the roasted swan.
[20:28] Aule: please do, fair Queen!
[20:28] Comet Quijote: To my right hand is Prince Topher, lady Pixie, Lady Domonique
[20:28] Olwe places the finest pieces of the bird on silver plates and offers it to his dragon guests.
[20:28] Dominique Darkwatch sits near the great Vala, in awe and wonder looking across at Varanwe with some excitement
[20:29] Varanwe Firehawk is still astounded by the presence of lord aulë.....
[20:29] Comet Quijote: To your right hand is Lord Varanwe, Lady Nexus, Princess ivy, Lady moira
[20:29] Ivy Paderborn bows her head in greeting
[20:29] Malakyte Thorne blinks at this sign of respect and smiles, nodding gratefully; Thank you your majesty
[20:29] Powers Constantine smiles at the offer of meat
[20:29] Powers Constantine: Thank you very much
[20:30] Comet Quijote: To my left is Dragon Regent, Malakyte and Lord Powers, Elder Sun Dragon
[20:30] Topher Westland nods slightly still keeping an eye on him
[20:30] Olwe bows and smiles
[20:30] Arth Karas (Aule) nods warmly to each of the guests in turn... his eye glinting merrily.
[20:30] Comet Quijote: I am honored to have you meet them. they are most loyal and deserving
[20:31] Olwe's eyes sweep the company, smiling at each at his cousin's praise.
[20:31] Comet Quijote: I could not do without any of them
[20:31] Varanwe Firehawk smiles at his queen's kind words.
[20:32] Malakyte Thorne watches and listens attentively
[20:32] Moira Radikal blushes and looks very happy
[20:32] Nexus Kabila blushes slightly at her kind words and smiles.
[20:32] Comet Quijote: I have come to see my cousin because of his long absense
[20:32] Comet Quijote: I was most distressed by it
[20:32] Aule laughs merrily. Indeed! Who ever could make do without good friends? What value is music or food or craft without a friend to share it with?
[20:32] Olwe: The Sweet Queen and her people have ever been generous and steadfast friends of the Teleri. They are our only remaining connection with the mortal world, prior to Alqualonde's appearance in middle earth.
[20:33] Powers Constantine remains alert
[20:33] Olwe looks over and smiles gently at the Queen. "The world would be darker without her and her people."
[20:33] Comet Quijote: I have come to offer him the protection of his borders by Sylvhara, should he be in need
[20:34] Comet Quijote: The world has become a dark place
[20:34] Malakyte Thorne listens with interest
[20:34] Olwe bows. I fear we are all in great need, my Sweet Sovereign.
[20:34] Comet Quijote glances at the strawbrries upon the table and is reminded of the ones sent to her from Alqualonde
[20:35] Olwe leans and whispers..."There are yet a crate of strawberries and cocoa beans for you, upon the docks."
[20:35] Comet Quijote: Do you protect these lands, Lord Aule?
[20:35] Dominique Darkwatch tries drinks some of the wine, and feels calmed and warmed by it
[20:36] Olwe rises his glance up and down the table to Lord Aule.
[20:36] Comet Quijote smiles to her cousin
[20:36] Comet Quijote: Perhaps he meditates
[20:37] Arth Karas (Aule) laughs.
[20:37] Comet Quijote: I am pleased to have this fine meal at our arrival
[20:37] Ivy Paderborn smiles and nods in agreement, taking a bright apple and crunching into it
[20:37] Aule: I am indeed an staunch ally for Lord and King Olwë, you Highness
[20:38] Comet Quijote: I am happy to hear it so
[20:38] Olwe smiles. "I am glad I have such wondrous company with whom to share it. But this is far from the bright days when the Teleri sang and dance throughout the long twillight."
[20:39] Comet Quijote: I am afraid we must prepare to depart
[20:39] Moira Radikal looks around the empty room trying to imagine the wonders of olden times
[20:39] Olwe: So soon?
[20:39] Comet Quijote: I cannot stay away long but, I had to see the King for myself
[20:39] Topher Westland looks to the Queen, King and the figure at the end of the table nodding his head "I will prepare our departure my Queen"
[20:39] Olwe places a hand upon her arm before he could stop himself. "Comet, cousin."
[20:40] Comet Quijote: To see that all was well
[20:40] Dominique Darkwatch smiles thinking how the vala must have helped create the lands here with his song
[20:40] Olwe: All is not well.
[20:40] Comet Quijote: Thank you Prince Topher
[20:40] Olwe turns to her with a haunted look in his eyes.
[20:40] Comet Quijote: I am honored and pleased to have met with you, Lord Aule
[20:40] Topher Westland: A pleasure to meet you both Kind Olwe and Vala
[20:40] AelKennyr Rhiano: "Great, great evil is coming. That is why Alqualonde is here. Why we are a island."
[20:41] Comet Quijote looks at Olwe, startled
[20:41] Ivy Paderborn turns to King Olwe, concerned for the tone in his voice and the words he speaks
[20:41] Malakyte Thorne listens intently
[20:41] Comet Quijote: yes, dear cousin
[20:41] Olwe: The Teleri....my people.....his voice breaks
[20:41] Varanwe Firehawk nods to himself, having seen visions of impending doom.
[20:41] Comet Quijote: This is what drives me to come to you now
[20:41] Olwe: I...I...
[20:41] Aule: the honor and pleasure are indeed my own, My. Queen
[20:41] Olwe: they are gone.
[20:41] Comet Quijote: All will be well
[20:42] Olwe: I know not where.
[20:42] Comet Quijote nods
[20:42] Aule: but Olwë IS in need of your help as well as mine.
[20:42] Comet Quijote: i will try to help in any way that I can
[20:42] Olwe: Please, my cousin, the elves must gather...all the elven clans
[20:42] Comet Quijote: Please do not be distressed
[20:42] Moira Radikal 's eyes widen as she listens to the king
[20:42] Olwe: I...I.....voice trails off.
[20:42] Comet Quijote: Yes
[20:43] Olwe: I have been sent by the Valar...by Manwe and Irmo and Ulmo
[20:43] Powers Constantine perks ears
[20:43] Comet Quijote: We will gather the clans as soon as possible
[20:43] Malakyte Thorne tilts her head, trying to follow the conversation
[20:43] Olwe: The evil threatens all our people
[20:43] Varanwe Firehawk begins to realize that he must speak with his cousin thelien to help assemble what few noldor remain. perhaps they may be of assistance.
[20:44] Olwe: Else none of our elven kin will survive what lies ahead.
[20:44] Dominique Darkwatch looks down sadly, having also been given warnings and visions
[20:44] Olwe catches himself..."Forgive me."
[20:44] Comet Quijote: Sylvhara has had a balrog emerge from the deep
[20:44] Varanwe Firehawk: i know, my queen.
[20:44] Comet Quijote: inside the volcano
[20:44] Pixie Hammand looks at her queen and senses her deep concern
[20:44] Arth Karas (Aule) nods, corroborating Olwë's statement. My kin are indeed distressed at the state of the Teleri
[20:44] Olwe: There will be more, and worse evil yet to come.
[20:45] Comet Quijote: the very ground that keeps the underworld separate from us is falling away
[20:45] Olwe: I do need your help, my Dear Cousin.
[20:45] Malakyte Thorne 's tail begins to twitch
[20:45] Olwe: We all need each other's. This world is unkown to me.
[20:45] Comet Quijote: The Black Flower open portals in many places
[20:46] Olwe's eyes widen..."Black flower?"
[20:46] Sif Naxos drools looking at the chikins
[20:46] Comet Quijote: It is time to move forward with a serious plan
[20:46] Olwe gasps and startles at the approach of another visitor.
[20:46] Powers Constantine growls
[20:46] Comet Quijote stops
[20:46] Malakyte Thorne sniffs sensing a goblin

[20:47] Malakyte Thorne rises to her feet, tail twitching still
[20:47] Powers Constantine hisses at the goblin
[20:47] Olwe stands protectively in front of his cousin before hearing the words of the goblin queen and relazing.
[20:47] Moira Radikal turns in her chair to watch the goblin
[20:47] Ivy Paderborn turns around in her chair and raises an eyebrow at the dancing gobber
[20:47] Sif Naxos winkz at da big elf king

[20:49] Comet Quijote: Let us depart

[20:50] Nexus Kabila: Do not mind SIffy King Olwe. She is a bit....odd.
[20:50] Varanwe Firehawk looks with disdain upon the goblin, wondering how this one has possibly found her way to alqualondë....

[20:50] Sif Naxos growlz
[20:50] Sif Naxos: Eberyone leabing?

Nienna Contemplates the News

< Previous Nienna

April 26, 2010
Lihan Taifun
The Vala Nienna stands on the cliffs of her estate, Fui, looking out over the great Outer Ocean.  Some people would call the view bleak.  She finds it calming.

More and more troubling news has come to her lately.  Not the news carried by the dead, to her brother's halls of Mandos.  Few elves die now, since few still live in the mortal lands.

No, the living, who Nienna seldom sees, have been showing up, always with strange and distressing news.  A tribe of dragons, escaped from Melkor's captivity, who chide her that they do more to help the world than she does.  The king of the Sea Elves, who braved the journey to the Holy Mountain, to seek advice from Manwë himself, becauses of warnings from brother Irmo.  An elven traveller who says even the mountains that border the Undying Lands harbor fearsome and dangerous creatures.

Perhaps she should ask Irmo what he meant in the dreams he sent to the sea king.  She spends much time on her brother Namo's business -- "spent", when the Halls of Mandos were busier with new arrivals -- but less so with quiet and kind brother Irmo.

The old instigators of evil have been long ago defeated -- Melkor; his servant Sauron; Curumo, that one of the Five who was ensnared.  All banished, or reduced to powerless whispers on the wind.
And yet ... and yet ... who is to say whispers on the wind are powerless?

She begins singing, in attempt to organize her thoughts.
Melkor is banished, Mordor is broken
Yet corruption claims the innocent --
     Hollow hatred, greed of gold,

The sound is that of her golden harp, though she has not bothered to give the harp physical form.  She simply causes the air to vibrate in musical tones.  That is easier.  Neither does she sing with a physical voice. Rather she is projecting her song on a short-range telepathy, which any Ainu nearby could hear.

Not that she is aware of any Ainur nearby.

The music and the words both are rough and improvisational.  Nothing she would bring to any musical display at any festival.
The People of Light live apart,
On the Mountain their music perfecting.
The Sons of Feanor spent their fire
Prizing jewels above justice or kin.
Who but the Seafarers see the whole?
Fair their ships on farthest shores.

Yes, the Seafarers ... perhaps Irmo was right in selecting the Sea King.  She needs to speak to Irmo.  Perhaps to speak to all the Valar.

Olwë sends Aloysius home

AelKennyr Rhiano

With Aloysius perched upon his forearm, Olwe walks with sure steps to the palace balcony, looking over the still and quiet night. He and his guests have talked several times during the day, and long into the night. Long he mulled over the stories of the Lady Nexus, the further tales of Lord Varanwe, and the adventures of his own great granddaughter, Fi. From his tacturn guard, he learned precious little, the warrior elf more often grunting one word answers than launching into any great discourse. Now, under the light of the moon, he raises his arm, and beckons the faithful owl to wing home. As the flap of the bird's wings grown distant, his eyes sweep across his beloved Alqualonde, the only sounds now were the rustling of the wind and the slap of the water upon the shore. He hums to himself, an old tune, one he heard at his own table when he took quiet meals. Quietly, he sings to himself.:

"Long I waited for thee,
Thy name in my heart.
The wind whispered to me:
One day he will come.
The sea sung to me,
Be patient, be still.
Love will come when it will.

Long I have seen thy face,
Long I have ached for thy touch.
If I could but hear you call my name
I'd wait until the seas burned away.

Long I sat patiently,
Thy love a shape in dreams.
The moon whispered to me:
Your soul he'll renew.
The trees sigh to me,
Be steadfast and know.
Love never withers, it grows.

Long I dreamed I held you at last.
Long I held you in my heart.
If I could but hear you call my name
I'd wait until the seas burned away.

Don't make me wait
till the seas burn away."

His voice died away, quiet descending once more. Sighing, Olwe turned and walked softly back into his palace.

Olwë replies to Comet's message

AelKennyr Rhiano

Olwe left his two guests and wearily walked back to his own tower, the tactiturn guard sharp at his heels. Barely able to cover a yawn, he bade Ossi a good rest and for the first time in several weeks, rested his head upon his own pillow and slept without dreams until the next morn. Sunlight crept into his bedroom, a thing unknown to the teleri elf in his own beloved Alqualonde, and he awoke, blinking, taking several moments to remember all that had occurred to cause the light of the sun to shine upon the Haven of the swans. He rose and dressed, then went to his own private audience chambers, and looked at the table, still cluttered with scrolls. He picked one up, but with a heavy sigh, set it back down and started toward the door to walk out into the courtyard. But upon opening it , a blurr of feathers beat past him, and he turned to see the familar form of Queen Comet's faithful owl, Aloysius, who settled upon the table, among the scrolls. "Welcome, friend Aloysius," Olwe said with a smile.

The owl settled his feathers and gazed upon the Teleri king with its wide eyes.

Crossing the room, Olwe bent down and stroked the owl, then spied the pouch. Smiling, he retrieves the missive from the pouch and offers his arm to Aloysius, who hopped upon it without hesitation. He walked over to a corner of the room and offered Aloyius a corner of a floor harp upon which to perch. "Rest, friend, and when Ossi comes, he shall hunt you up a fine meal, eh?" The bird gave a small "who" and tucked his head under his wing, dropping to a well deserved sleep.

Unrolling the message, Olwe recognized the precise hand of the Sylvan queen and nodded his head slowly as he read the message. Crossing over to where he kept his writing implements. He took a piece of vellum and dipping his quill in the ink bottle, he wrote back in flowing Quenya.
"Sweet Cousin and Dearest Queen, forgive the lack of answer to previous messages. I have but lately returned from Mount Taniquetil, where I sought the wisdom of the Valar, from Manwe himself. Oh, Sweet and Dear Cousin, Lord Irmo has sent me dreams of such Evil that my very soul quails. I see destruction and mayhem...creatures that defy description. I lost contact with all trading posts, save for your own realms.

A turn of moons ago, I sailed to your sweet lands to confer with you but had to turn back because an urgent message reached me from Alqualonde. When I came home, there were no joyous voices to greet me, no songs such as the Teleri alway sing. The teleri themselves were gone, the land still. Still the dreams plagued me, and then Irmo appeared and commanded me, "Return to the world of mortals, seek ye thy elven kind and prepare to stand against the shadow of evil."

But never have the Teleri been called to such a task, and so I went to Manwe himself, to seek wisdom. I have but returned last night, to find Lord Varanwe and Lady Nexus here, along with my most faithful of guards Ossi, and my great granddaughter, Fi.

Dear. Cousin, Ulmo himself has moved the whole of Alqualonde as an island into the world once more. We are but a short sail from thy own lands, due north. The coordinates I shall include. I should be glad to welcome my dear, sweet Friend and Gentle Queen to my now quiet lands and provide such entertainment as possible, given the circumstances.

Be Well, Sweet Sovereign and Great Queen. Until next we meet, be safe, I pray you,

Olwe of Alqualonde."
Olwe walked to the open door and whistled sharply. Soon his call was answered by the flap of wings, and a swan settled before him. Bending his neck, the swan revealed a golden collar with a special scroll case. Rolling up his missive, he inserts it into the case and softly strokes the swan's head. "Travel swiftly, my friend, and find you my Cousin, Queen Comet of Sylvahara." Then he stepped back, and the swan, with a flap of wings, took the air, circled once and quickly flew away.

Comet Quijote

Comet Quijote writes another message to her cousin, King Olwe. Her quill scratches slowly and the ink flows in her own destinctive hand. She writes in the Sindar dialect, forming the graceful characters of her ancestors

My Dear cousin, it has been weeks. I have nearly given up hope in my efforts that my messages will find you.  Please send word as soon as ever you receive this note. I will come to Alqualonde to rest my eyes upon you myself when I find you have returned.

As ever, your cousin, Queen Comet, Corm en' quissir

Comet Quijote goes to the terrace to seek her owl. He sleeps on the rail with one foot pulled up under his feathers and his eyes tightly closed.  She whispers, "Aloyisius...psssst"

His eyes pop open and his head turns completely around on his neck to look at her

Comet Quijote smiles at his engaging form as she stuffs the message into his pouch."Go to Alqualonde and deliver this note. If you cannot find the king, search the land for Lord Varanwe or Lady Nexus. Deliver it to someone, anyone..

The owl darted away and disappeared into the clouds

Olwë's request to Ulmo

< Prev  Olwë     < Prev  Alqualondë
AelKennyr Rhiano

The mighty Eagle seemed to have an endless reservoir of endurance but after untold hours of travel, even his chest began to heave with effort, and his body tremble with exhaustion. Finally, the bird laboriously descended and came to a short abrupt landing, folding his wings under him, his beak open and his eyes dull. Olwe slid from his back and tried to stand on wobbly feet, re-acquainting himself with walking on land. Slowly, he unpacked his travel sack and made an small camp. The bird took off to to the skies, seeking its own supper and returning hours later.

Staring into the fire, Olwe bowed his head. Raising it again, in direction of his beloved Alqualonde, he stood and spread his arms in supplication. "Great Ulmo, Lord of the Sea, Friend of the Teleri, it is the will of the Valar, that I seek my lost people and go into the world, to help gather my kin and strengthen our resolve to serve always Illuvatar. For this Alqualonde can no longer remain apart from the world but must again be part of it.

"Great Ulmo, hear my request and be as friend to the Teleri again, you who placed the song of the sea in our hearts and a love to sail upon its waters. I ask you, humbly, in great need, restore safely the Haven of the Swans to the world beyond the Undyling Lands. Let us do the Will of the Valar, in accordance to the Song of Creation and the Wisdom of Illuvatar Himself." Olwe dropped to his knees and bows his head. "Please, send your servant, Osse, who once befriended the seafaring elves, to again keep watch and guide us, to be friend to us and steer us safely when great need arises. "

Around him , there was a stillness so deep, that it felt to the elven lord he had gone deaf. Then he heard, from every direction, the sound of a great rush of water, as though the heavens were about to open, and a floodgate of water was about to descend. Like the crash of water, fierce and ruthless, the sound shook the ground beneath Olwe.

Then there was silence once more, and Olwe knew he had been heard.

The Guard - In Observation

< Prev  Alqualondë
Ossy Portocarrero

She had failed to return, promptly.

While his King was not present, she would be his duty. He had taken a meal where he was, from the travel rations in his pack. And had slept, for all intents and purposes with one eye open, against the very wall at which he stood. And she had not returned.

Brushing off the crumbs on his tunic he moved with a deadly silence, even in his armor, towards the low hanging deck of the palace's main level. With a thrust of his weight, into the air, he vaulted over the rail and landed silently on the balls of his feet before taking up a brisk pace around the island. His patrol led him around the dark and quiet houses, amongst a variety of topiary, and in a careful circumference to the market.

The guard stops in his tracks suddenly, eyebrows rising in the eternal darkness of Alqualonde. He dashes behind a large tree trunk and his face takes on a look of superior concentration. In the silence... yes, there it was. A sound, the sound of thunderous snoring. But it seemed too complex, as if underlaid by a nasal throttling beneath the loud rumble. It was coming from the tavern. With a few quick steps he was pressed against the exterior of the building, peering in through the pitch dark to see a misshapen lump on one of the seats along the perimeter of the interior. His eyes, adjusted to the gloom, soon spotted not one but TWO shapes, pressed together. It would be hard to discern if either was male from his place at a distance, since both figures had long attire and hair, but the snores were certainly un-ladylike.

Pressed as he was to the cool stone he seemed to consider what to do with this pair of unknown individuals. After a few moments he pushed away again just as silently as he had approached. Further examination of the nearby area led him to spot a number of tracks. They belonged to the heel of boots like those he himself was wearing, and they were somewhat fresh. Some of his own peers and brethren had visited these very parts. Standing, after examining the tracks, he peered towards the nearby tavern. Mayhaps these very guards were keeping an eye on these curious strangers.

He need not concern himself with them, in this case. They were already being watched, he could keep his mind on his duty for the time being. He moved along, further studying the town in more detail. As he rose up one particular rise, he could see across the top of the soft mountains the meditation peak across the way. There, safe, was the lady Fi and her strange and curious bird companion. He rose up on the perimeter wall of the small home he was by, and sitting upon that edge, watched her for the remainder of her visit there.

He had a clear view of the harbor and the majority of the island, including the tavern, from here. And so his vigil continued, yet still as silent as a statue he was, but always watching. Watching, for his King.

Olwë Prepares to Return

< Prev  Olwë         < Prev  Alqualondë

Olwe wrapped his hands around the steaming mug and slowly slipped the broth.  His seablue eyes gazed about the walls, hewn from the living rock itself, upon the fireplace before him, the logs crackling and splitting as they are devoured by the flames.  Mesmerized, he gazed deeper into the fire, and it seemed that he could see into the dancing firelight a greater fire, his nostrils stinging from the acrid smelling of buring flesh and wood. He was struck deaf by the cries of pain, of suffering, of dying, the clash of steel, a mingle of languages assailing him...and though he cannot understand them all, he knew well the sound of those laying down their lives in battle.

A hand settled upon his shoulder, and Olwe leapt up from his chair, throwing off the blanket a kind elf maid had rested upon his shoulders when she brought the broth, fruit and cheese to him.  The cup of broth fell and crashed as it hit the ground, Olwe reaching for his mighty two handed sword, forgetting that upon Manwe's mount, no living being takes up steel, save by the will of Valar.  The same hand stretched out to him and a voice, made gentle by the passing of centuries, made soothing by hurts and joys immeasurable, speaks.

"Peace, Olwe, peace, brother.  What you saw within the flames  are shapes of what may be...nothing more."

Olwe, eyes widened, beholding before him the highest of all the elven eldar kings. Speecheless, he stared, frozen for a few seconds.  Then, his face flushing, he went on bended knee, head bowed. "Hail, Ingwe, High King, Lord of the Vanyar, Beloved of the Valar."  His eyes flickered over to the broken crockery.

With a laugh refreshing as a summer rain, the HIgh King bent down and grabbed  Olwe's forearms, raising him and looking into the Teleri King's flushed face.  "Hail Olwe, King of the Teleri, kinsman I name you, for you, too, were at the Waters of Cuivienen."

Olwe looked into the Great Vanyar King's eyes and saw a warm welcome.  He bowed his head.  "Thank you, My Lord, for the warm welcome you and yours have given me."

Ingwe nodded and gestured for Olwe to retake his seat as he took the chair next to Olwe.  "I am afraid we cannot offer  you more, gentle Olwe, than this brief respite before you are, again, on your journey. " Here, he looked into the fire and fell silent a moment before continuing. "The Valar have met long in council, and your visions have been but  part of a larger mirror into a future that has become murky."

Olwe nodded, his eyes intent upon the High King's face, but nothing in that placid visage gave away any hint of Ingwe's true feelings.  Ingwe's hand moved to rest upon a large bound tome.  "In this book is the accounting of our people, my cousin.  The Sindar, the Noldor, even my own people, the Vanyar."  He tapped a finger upon the cover. "Now, new pages shall be written in the history of the elves.'  He slowly swiveled his head and leveled his gaze upon the Teleri King. "Now it is time for the tale of the Teleri, the story of their king."

"But I..."started Olwe.  But the High King continued.  "Even here, the joyous songs of the Teleri carried upon the Winds.  They filled our nights and our days with laughter and happiness and hope.  Now, instead is heard a dreadful silence, and long have we wept for the ceasing of the music of the Teleri."

Olwe tried to hold his gaze with the High King, but at those words,  his eyes swam with tears.  "You are stronger than you know, Olwe of Alqualonde, Olwe of Tol Eressea.  You who ever pushed onward, leading your people to the promised home, your eyes ever fixed upon the shores of the undying land.  Steadfast you are, and determined.  It is the will of Eru that you rise now, to the challenge that awaits.  It is time now, Olwe, for you to begin to gather our kin in Middle Earth, all the elven kin and clans, and guard against the darkness that is to come."

"My Lord King, "Olwe answered slowly.  "I am but..."

"You," interrupted Ingwe sharply, "are Olwe and Teleri, and now a new song shall be sung."  The High King rose smoothly to his feet, and Olwe rose as well.  "One of Manwe's own eagles awaits to take you back to the Haven of the Swans."  Ingwe then turned and briefly embraced the Teleri Lord. "Remember, Olwe, Shadows cannot truly destroy who we are...unless we allow them to fall across our hearts."

Then he released the Teleri Lord and, with a brotherly arm around Olwe's shoulder, walked him through the stone passages, out to a courtyard where awaited a giant eagle. Olwe bowed once more to the High King, and as he rose, the Great King of all the Elves took from his belt a sealed letter and pressed into Olwe's hands.  "You are loved, more than you know, " he said gently.  "I was bidden to give you this by one whose heart holds you close."

Olwe look from the letter to the Great King. "Thank you," he whispered, and pushed it inside his jerkin against his chest.  After mounting the eagle, he had time to give one last wave at the Lord of all the Elves before the bird launched into the air, homebound for Alqualonde.

The Appearance of the Guard

< Prev  Alqualondë
Ossy Portocarrero

The island is calm, all the plants and buildings sleeping in the twillight. A light breeze plays along the hanging leaves, the gentle peace of the 'too silent' surroundings suddenly broken by high female laughter in the distance. It sounds too high, too loud in this deserted island. Paper and fallen leaves litter the floor here, half loaded wares sit on docks beside half laden boats, stores sit with items not perfectly stocked. It is eerily desolate, except for that jovial sound deep within the palace, a sound which seems to stretch along the entire empty place.

Suddenly, there is a rustle of foliage. A highly forested area shifts and shudders as it is agitated by the unexpected appearance of a gloved hand. It pushes the branches aside, and the hand is followed by a well crafted bracer. And then a mythril chain mail covered arm. Another hand appears to push the brush aside, similarly followed by the rest of an arm. Soon, the visage of a muscular, armored elf steps through the gap created by those gloved appendages. He, for that is what he is, is tall, with pale skin, bedecked in the uniform of a Teleri royal guard in white, cobalt and mythril.

His face is set in a grim mask of determination, the scars along his features making his expression seem even more intense and frightening than it would be otherwise. His piercing green eyes seem to be made of the same stuff as the very leaves he seems to be escaping from. He is gaunt and entirely serious, not only in his expression but in countenance and the make up of his features. He affords himself few frivolities, the make of his sword, obviously now that he is standing on the grass, brushing leaves from his uniform, rather unique and fancier than the utilitarian one a guard's uniform would supply.

Atop his head is another sign of rare non-conformity as a somewhat messy head of murky red-brown hair grows from his scalp, tied aside so as not to be bothersome. With his amber eyes, he glances about the empty area he is not inhabiting. The discarded leaves lay in a rough circle about him, and he suddenly snaps towards the sound of that  laughter. His jaw sets tightly, the muscles tensing with resolution, and the guard sets off towards the palace at a fast, long strided walk.

The barren island's now second inhabitant makes his way to the palace, for his bizarre appearance seeming clean and in good shape. The only wounds of his person are those well  aged from combats long past. Once he arrives in the palace, he follows the sound of a woman's voice until he stands at the doorway of the room where a woman, obviously of Teleri descent, is making all the noise. He watches her silently for a few moments, studying her. With a twitch that could be interpreted as a start he suddenly realizes who she is. The lady Findentinda, descendant of his sword liege the Teleri High King Olwe. With a cough, he makes her aware of his presence and then bows to her as his rank as a body guard demands. Words are not necessary to convey his allegiance. A few moments pass and he stands once more, turning on the spot and walking back beyond the doorway into the hall. He stands guard, still and tall, hand on his pommel.

And just like that, he resumes his post without delay, and waits, ready at a moment's notice to take his place again at the back ans side of his main care, the safety of his majesty the King as soon as his liege-lord returns.

Alqualondë Deserted conclusion

< Prev  Alqualondë

Varanwë awakens to the sound of footfalls outside the tavern of Alqualondë.  By the time he manages to stagger groggily to the door, he sees no one, and wonders whether he imagined the passing.   He turns back and looks upon Nexus, still sleeping peacefully.  He thinks to venture forth and scout around, but then thinks better of it, given the circumstances.   If something was wrong here, he will not care to see any harm come to Nexus.  so he returns to his seat beside his beloved.  "If someone is here," thinks he, "we shall find them soon enough......or they us."

He returns to the bench in the tavern where he slept, and reenters his slumber.  Some time later, he has a horrific nightmare vision of a river of blood in Sylvhara Tari, one which flows into the black Aryadorian fortress, swirling and pooling in its center.  The pool spins around a dark center, and the blood flows down into it.   He is jolted awake of this vision, though Nexus awakens not.  "This appears to me a portal," he thinks to himself, "and I care not to imagine to whence it opens."  He keeps this to himself until later.

[21:33]  Varanwe Firehawk finds it difficult to get back to sleep with this vision on his mind, so reluctantly awakens nexi.
[21:33]  Fi Piaggio sneaks up to the tavern building hearing voices....curiously looks inside
[21:34]  Varanwe Firehawk: mela....i have had a terrible vision.
[21:34]  Nexus Kabila awakens and looks at him. What kind of vision my love?
[21:34]  Fi Piaggio looks in and peaks her head around the corner
[21:34]  Varanwe Firehawk: a river of blood in sylvhara.
[21:34]  Varanwe Firehawk: it flows into the black fortress, and creates a vortex at its center.
[21:35]  Varanwe Firehawk suddenly is aware of a presence behind him and cuts himself off.
[21:35]  Fi Piaggio raises an eyebrow at the words of the blonde elf
[21:35]  Nexus Kabila looks at him in shock fully awake and no longer groggy. This is ill.
[21:35]  Fi Piaggio sees she is spotted and trips over the stairs trying to hide again
[21:35]  Varanwe Firehawk: vedui', my lady.

[21:35]  Nexus Kabila looks towards the door.
[21:36]  Fi Piaggio clears her throat and rights herself...tries to remember the polite way to greet someone since its been so long....coughs..."Er...Greetings"
[21:36]  Nexus Kabila: Greetings.
[21:36]  Varanwe Firehawk respectfully bows
[21:36]  Nexus Kabila curtsies
[21:36]  Nexus Kabila: Pleased to see you.
[21:36]  Fi Piaggio grins and tries to stand up straight as these two seem very formal "Aye, er....Yes very please to met you as well"
[21:36]  Varanwe Firehawk: i am varanwë, an elf of lothlorien, from the great lands.
[21:37]  Nexus Kabila: I am Nexus, A healer and follower of Anubis.
[21:37]  Varanwe Firehawk: her majesty, queen comet has sent me here.
[21:38]  Varanwe Firehawk: well......not entirely.
[21:38]  Fi Piaggio nods to Varanwe, "I am called Fi"....shifts uneasily wondering if they know who her grandfather is
[21:38]  Varanwe Firehawk: she.....it is a long story.
[21:38]  Fi Piaggio: Oh? Sent by a queen....hmm...
[21:38]  Varanwe Firehawk: aye.
[21:38]  Varanwe Firehawk: our lives are in danger in sylvhara.
[21:38]  Fi Piaggio nods to Nexus in greeting then raises an eyebrow "Danger? Why?"
[21:39]  Varanwe Firehawk: for i slew an evil seawitch, who then sought revenge.
[21:39]  Fi Piaggio hides her pan further into her skirts
[21:39]  Fi Piaggio: Oooh...*grins*...those seawitches can be a tricksy bunch
[21:39]  Varanwe Firehawk: i have brought my beloved nexus with me, as i feared also for her life.
[21:39]  Varanwe Firehawk: aye.....she is most cunning and false.
[21:39]  Nexus Kabila raises a brow as she sees Fi try to hide something but does not push the matter.
[21:40]  Varanwe Firehawk: she hides well her true intentions behind kind words,
[21:40]  Varanwe Firehawk: we have coem to see king olwë.
[21:40]  Fi Piaggio: Well...erm....you have been here long then? Perhaps you have seen anyone?
[21:40]  Varanwe Firehawk: aye, a number of days.
[21:40]  Fi Piaggio: Ohh...*coughs*...yes, I ....I have heard of him.
[21:40]  Fi Piaggio smiles
[21:41]  Fi Piaggio: I seek him as well actually
[21:41]  Nexus Kabila watches her closely wondering why she acts so strangely.
[21:41]  Varanwe Firehawk: queen comet thought it would be mutually beneficial.
[21:41]  Fi Piaggio adjusts her stolen dress a lil, not used to so much fabric
[21:42]  Fi Piaggio nods "Oh yes, all those queens and kings...always good when they are allies and such"
[21:44]  Varanwe Firehawk: we have seen signs of a struggle in our wanderings. has anything happened?
[21:45]  Fi Piaggio looks to Nexus and wonders at her silence....looks back to Varanwe and shrugs "All I have seen are empty boxes and the sourpuss guard that has been papa....er....King Olwe's personal guard forever. It seems as though he awaits Olwe's return with the rest of us"
[21:46]  Varanwe Firehawk looks quizzically at her......"you are his granddaughter?"
[21:46]  Nexus Kabila catches the quick switch of words. "Papa you say?"
[21:46]  Fi Piaggio frowns and shifts a bit from foot to foot.... "Welll no.....*clears her throat* I ...uhh.....*mumbles* am his great grand daughter"
[21:47]  Fi Piaggio blushes and bites her lip
[21:47]  Varanwe Firehawk: i see. an interesting turn of events.
[21:47]  Nexus Kabila smiles. I see.
[21:48]  Fi Piaggio sighs and lifts her shoulders "Its been some time since I have been back....and now the place is empty except you two and the sourpuss guard."
[21:48]  Fi Piaggio: Strange.
[21:48]  Varanwe Firehawk: we did not even see the guard.
[21:48]  Fi Piaggio: He sneaks about....I dont think he wants to be seen.
[21:48]  Nexus Kabila: I do not remember ever seeing a guard.
[21:49]  Varanwe Firehawk: this is a most unusual state of affairs, and queen comet, i suspect, will be gravely concerned. i suspect she may try to come here.
[21:49]  Fi Piaggio: This place used to be bustling with people...the harbor full...last I remember...and now....
[21:50]  Varanwe Firehawk: i expect it would have been, indeed, i expected to see it thus.
[21:50]  Varanwe Firehawk: when we arrived, we assumed all were in the palace, but none were there either.
[21:51]  Fi Piaggio nods "My grandfather will clear this up....I hope."
[21:51]  Varanwe Firehawk: by iluvatar's will, i should hope.
[21:52]  Fi Piaggio looks to Frances and watches him blink "I think we shall go back to the cliffs for a bit....My Frances likes to wait and watch for boats"
[21:53]  Varanwe Firehawk nods..."very well."
[21:53]  Nexus Kabila nods. Be well
[21:53]  Fi Piaggio nods to the both of them "I wish you luck on your journey, I'm sure we will cross paths again soon"
[21:53]  Varanwe Firehawk: sooner than you think, i expect.
[21:53]  Fi Piaggio lifts her burdensome skirts and grumbles about the wasted amoutn of cloth and exits the tavern
[21:54]  Nexus Kabila: I do think that is not her gown. She seems to have great trouble walking in it.
[21:54]  Nexus Kabila chuckles to herself.
[21:54]  Varanwe Firehawk: a most unusual elf......and furtive.
[21:54]  Nexus Kabila nods.
[21:54]  Varanwe Firehawk: i had not thought the teleri so.
[21:55]  Nexus Kabila: She seems......She did say she had not been here in a while.
[21:55]  Nexus Kabila: Perhaps she was like me. Left her home and was changed by it.
[21:55]  Varanwe Firehawk: i should hope lord olwë is not quite so.

Fi's Return to the Seafaring City

< Prev  Alqualondë

Many years and memories have passed....after travels and explorations....the grand-daughter of King Olwe and her mute vulture Frances sail from the dark lands towards the island of her birthright. Upon docking the shores, Fi steps out onto the quiet decking. The bustling harbor she remembers from her youth is replaced by empty ships, abandoned crates, and an eerie stillness. Fi walks carefully to the market, and upon seeing it is also abandoned, takes it upon herself to change from her sea-worn rags into a fancy gown just laying around in a merchant stall. She makes a mental note to pay that merchant next time she sees them. Grinning and full of anxiety she walks up to the palace, eager to greet the family she hasnt seen since her early childhood...only to find the palace is also empty. She remembers the palace well and climbs the stairs to her grandfather's personal study. She turns to Frances and smirks "He will be back sometime, Im sure of it. For now we rest and eat and make ourselves comfy in Papa Olwes luxurious dwelling eh? *Frances the mute vulture blinks* Thatta boy Frances." She reclines on her grandfathers lounge and closes her eyes....

Alqualondë Deserted

< Prev  Alqualondë

After their first night passed in Alqualondë amid the silence, Varanwë and Nexus awaken and spend the most part of the day exploring the lands.  But what they find this day is disturbing.

[18:07]  Varanwe Firehawk: i am still curious that i hear nothing in the lands.
[18:07]  Varanwe Firehawk: i should desire to make a full search for a time.
[18:07]  Nexus Kabila: There is a lack of presence.
[18:07]  Varanwe Firehawk: aye.
[18:08]  Varanwe Firehawk: come, beloved.....we shall begin upon the docks.
[18:08]  Nexus Kabila nods.
[18:09]  Varanwe Firehawk notes a great crate upon the swanship, one as if having been expected, but not opened, and still sitting there waiting.
[21:20]  Varanwe Firehawk: it would seem, there is a shipment for them, from whence i cannot guess, but here it remains.
[21:20]  Varanwe Firehawk looks up and down the berths, but notes no other ship present.
[21:21]  Nexus Kabila looks around in question. One would think there would be someone here to meet the shipment.
[21:21]  Varanwe Firehawk: indeed, one would think thus.
[21:22]  Varanwe Firehawk: perhaps none have noticed it as yet? though i should doubt that very much of elven kind.
[21:22]  Nexus Kabila: Even if they did not notice there should be a crew to man the ship, No?
[21:22]  Varanwe Firehawk: aye.
[21:23]  Varanwe Firehawk: perhaps we may find answers further in.
[21:23]  Varanwe Firehawk turns and heads away from the docks.
[21:23]  Nexus Kabila feels a little unease.
[21:25]  Varanwe Firehawk sees a home upon a hill and makes for it, thinking someone might be at home, but knowing well what he will find when he opens the door.....none present.
[21:25]  Door transfer: Varanwe Firehawk is at the door.
[21:25]  Nexus Kabila looks at the bear at the door. Noting a child must live here but no laughters or words spoken.
[21:26]  Varanwe Firehawk enters the building and notes a table setting, as if preparing for a meal, but none there to eat it.

[21:27]  Nexus Kabila frowns as she looks around. Seeing the items set for a day. though none here to enjoy it.
[21:27]  Varanwe Firehawk: he approaches the day bed, and sees a circlet left abandoned upon it. now his concern is all the greater. no elf would simply leave a circlet behind.
[21:27]  Varanwe Firehawk: something is not well here, my love.
[21:28]  Nexus Kabila: No, No it does not. Looks as if it was just left. No time for anything. Just.....just left as is.
[21:28]  Varanwe Firehawk: come......i suspect there is more to this.
[21:28]  Door transfer: Varanwe Firehawk is at the door.
[21:29]  Varanwe Firehawk turns to the left upon exiting the house and sets his sights upon the palace once more.
[21:30]  Varanwe Firehawk: maybe there are further clues in other parts of the palace.
[21:30]  Varanwe Firehawk: and in other parts of the land.
[21:30]  Varanwe Firehawk: we shall seek there first.
[21:30]  Nexus Kabila looks at him concerned and nods.
[21:32]  Varanwe Firehawk: they enter the great hall of king olwë's palace once again, looking in both directions, but seeing nothing out of order other than there being none present.
[21:36]  Varanwe Firehawk: they reach the dining room, where a prepared meal sits on the table, uneaten
[21:36]  Varanwe Firehawk: what happened to this place? and no signs of struggle.
[21:37]  Nexus Kabila shakes her head. No signs of anything to ensure resistnace
[21:38]  Nexus Kabila: It looks as if time stands still.
[21:39]  Varanwe Firehawk: indeed my love. and i am most concerned fo rour host.
[21:39]  Nexus Kabila: As do I. None of this bodes well.
[21:48]  Varanwe Firehawk leads into the conference chamber, but, as expected, none are present there either.

[21:50]  Varanwe Firehawk: come, my love. we shall search among the wilds for a time, and if nought else, then we shall seek what foodstuffs we may find that have not gone sour as yet. i neglected to request of her majesty some lembas. a foolish thing on my part.
[21:52]  Nexus Kabila feels her stomach growl. Yes, never know what we may find. I guess I should have reminded you. Never even crossed my mind.
[21:59]  Nexus Kabila looks out to the water in question. Knowing she can give her no answers as to what has happened here.
[21:59]  Varanwe Firehawk: they follow the pathway back around to the north side of the palace. thus far their search has been fruitless, and they are in need of some food soon. perhaps if they visited the tavern.....
[22:00]  Varanwe Firehawk: come mela....i just thought of something....
[22:00]  Nexus Kabila: As you wish.
[22:01]  Varanwe Firehawk: alas, there is not food to be found in this tavern.
[22:02]  Nexus Kabila looks around the quite tavern imagining the laughter and voices that are distant whispers now.
[22:02]  Nexus Kabila looks at him. I see. Well we may have to pick fruit from some trees around here.
[22:02]  Varanwe Firehawk: it may be so.
[22:04]  Varanwe Firehawk: they make off for a larger building toward the edge of the harbor, upon entring it and seeing a lower chamber, varanwë gasps as he sees a chair on its side and a spear embedded in the floor.

[22:04]  Varanwe Firehawk: wait here, my love.
[22:05]  Nexus Kabila watches him walk away,
[22:05]  Varanwe Firehawk: also nearby, a sword.....these are signs of a struggle.
[22:06]  Varanwe Firehawk: "there is an upper level." he points to a staircase on the opposite corner.
[22:07]  Varanwe Firehawk: this must have been the keep of the guardians.
[22:07]  Varanwe Firehawk: and look.....boots, left haphazard on the flor and bed......they must have been caught at unawares.
[22:08]  Nexus Kabila looks at the boots. Imagines playing her mind of what have happened to the owner.
[22:09]  Varanwe Firehawk: whoever came here to do this was a skilled group. to take the garrison silently, and then all others? must disturbing.
[22:10]  Nexus Kabila feels her chest tighten as she remembers the bear by the door of the home.

[22:14]  Varanwe Firehawk sits a moment in the next building to ponder this, and where their next meal might come from.
[22:15]  Nexus Kabila as he sits she looks out once more to the ocean. Seeing nothing of ships and passerbys.
[22:16]  Varanwe Firehawk: come. clearly there is not food here.
[22:17]  Nexus Kabila nods.
[22:17]  Varanwe Firehawk sees a luminous mist off to the right when they exit.
[22:18]  Varanwe Firehawk: he draws his sword just in case, then calls upon arien to aid him in stamina.
[22:19]  Nexus Kabila: What is it?
[22:19]  Varanwe Firehawk: i do not know, but i do not get a good sense of what is within. i could be wrong in this case, though. still, 'tis better safe than not.
[22:21]  Varanwe Firehawk looks up and down on either side of him. they have entered a wondrous pass filled with waterfalls and beautiful trees. it seems in fact he was wrong. he resheathes his sword.

[22:24]  Nexus Kabila: Such beauty this path holds.
[22:24]  Varanwe Firehawk: aye. would that it held what we seek.
[22:26]  Varanwe Firehawk: we shall return to the grove, and seek fruit trees, then. and then, i must take my rest.
[22:27]  Varanwe Firehawk: come then....i know it is a walk, but.....we shall take our rest afterward.
[22:27]  Nexus Kabila nods. Well then let us return and hope the fruit is well. I need to rest but now I have much my mind I do not think I will be resting well.
[22:27]  Varanwe Firehawk: ]nor shall i, my love.
[22:30]  Varanwe Firehawk turns to head back out of the pass, as they near the tavern, they discover an apple tree. varanwë reaches up to pull two apples. "i do hope his highness will not mind...."
[22:31]  Varanwe Firehawk continues on to the taver. nexus follows. they then seat themselves therein and soon fall asleep. this has been a most disturbing exploration.
[22:31]  Nexus Kabila feels her stomach growl once more. "I am sure he will understand." wipes her apple with her skirt and takes a bite enjoying the freshness.
