Estelin, having witnessed the events in Alqualonde, quickly departs the Swanhaven. Taking back his etherial form of Irmo, the Vala of Spirits, he instantly returns to his garden of Lorien, located in the far south of the Shining Lands. Irmo rests for a moment, listening to the birds and breathing the air of the Shining Lands, the peace of the garden rejuvenating him.
Este stands at the pool of healing water as she enjoys the peace of the garden. Listening to the sounds of the birds and enjoying the beauty of Lorien, she feels a familiar presence enter the gardens. Este turns around, and a smile comes on Este's appearance when she sees her husband returned home. "Ella, my love. Welcome back to Lorien," she greets him back to his home.
"Thank you, love." He smiles to his wife. "It is good to be back."
"It's good to see you again. The gardens are rather lonely without you here," she says with a gentle smile. "How is the situation in the material world?" she asks him interested in the news he brings back, since he left the gardens.
Irmo lowers his eyes slightly as he speaks. "I bring news of Olwe of Alqualonde, the Elda King of the Teleri. His situation... is quite grave."
Este is a little startled by this news, her shock showing hazily in her eyes. Last she heard the Teleri Lord seemed to be alright. "What's wrong with King Olwe, Love?" she asks, a little worried.
"Olwe, he is being tormented from within by a Voice. This voice controls his mind. At times, he sees only darkness and fears that the Valar have left him. He says he no longer sees the light. His body is covered with wounds that look like they were caused by malevolent claws."
Este listens to her husband with growing worry about the situation of King Olwe. When he finishes explaining the situation she nods slightly. To Este, it's a great sadness that one of the Teleri is grieved by this. "Sounds like there has to be something done about that. Anything more known about the inner Voice?" she asks gently, thinking about what they could do about this strange occurrence.
Irmo sighs. "None. I have spoken to a few of his people, and learned little about the purpose the Voice carries, except that it seeks to destroy him. I heard him speak of spiders and dark-skinned elves. I know not what this means. My sister and I could only assure him that the Valar have not left him."
"Spiders and Dark Skinned elves?" she asks softly as she thinks about it. There is no race known to her that suits this description, and the spiders don't make a lot of sense, either. "I know not what this means, either. I never heard of such," she adds as her eyes wander to the pool of healing that is glistering in the pale light of the moon.
Irmo nods as he follows his wife's gaze. "These remain a mystery, but I assured Olwe that we would not abandon him. I pray that we will be able to come up with something, a way to alleviate his suffering until they find the path to remove this curse."
Este thinks deeply about what they could do. This 'curse' was really bad news. And that King Olwe is losing his faith in the Valar even more so. Este looks from the pool back to her husband, and gentle eyes look at his appearance as she asks: "Is there any way to get him to Lorien?" She asks him cause he is the Lord of Lorien and knows most about it.
He speaks grimly. "There is a good sea captain ,there in Alqualonde, but I bring other news. The Morning Star, which is beloved by the Teleri, has also vanished. Navigation is now very difficult. Also, given Olwe's condition I am not sure he would survive another long voyage." He stops for a moment, then continues. "Is there a way to bring your healing to him?"
Este is obviously startled by the news about The Morning Star. "Vanished?" she asks with a first hint of shock in her voice. Weird looking elves and spiders are one thing, but for a the star to vanish: that needs a lot more power than just laying a curse on someone. When her husband asks if there is a way to bring her healing to Alqualonde, she answers with a slight hint of uncertainty. "That has never been done before. But if we can find something to contain the healing water from our pool,it may be possible. But he would need to keep it with him for it to work." she answers.
"Well," he begins, "I experienced cooking for the first time, and they put water in ... a bucket." He then reaches into his cloak and pulls out a vial. "I suppose this could hold healing water?"
"Cooking, Love?" she asks, a little surprised. Had they not carried such grief news, she would probably have laughed at this gently. Este watches as he pulls something from his cloak and looks at it. "It might. We can always try," she answers to him with a gentle voice. If it does work it would prove useful to help King Olwe retain his sanity till he is released.
Irmo hands Este the vial. "Let us try. We must do what we can to help Olwe."
Este gently takes the vial and nods. "I agree with you, Love. He has to remember that the Valar will always be with him," she answers and carefully walks over to the edge of the pool. She lowers the vial into the water, letting it fill slowly with the healing water. When she pulls it out, it glows faintly from the light of the moon before it fades. She closes it and returns it to her husband. "Let's hope that this will help our friend," she says and gives her husband a small smile, still filled with worry. "You have to make sure he keeps it with him at all times. Or it certainly won't work." She says one more time.
Irmo takes the vial and nods at his wife's instruction. "I will take this to him. Would you like to accompany me to Olwe's side?" he asks hopefully.
Este gently lets go when her husband holds the vial and wonders on his question. She never really left the forest before. "It would be an interesting change, but will the forest be alright without someone tending to it, Love?" she words her worry. Many races were peaceful, but not all were.
Irmo looks around the forest before responding. "I would think it would be fine for a while, but we may have a big task at hand when we return. This is something we could do together when Olwe is purified."
Este nods and gives a gentle smile. "I'd love to join you then, Love," she answers, though wondering what kind of task he means but not asking about it for now. "Let's meet Olwe together then." she adds: though she loves the forest it would be nice to be with Irmo again.
