Having been plagued by this recurring nightmare of his wife’s capture, yet again, Dometis awoke. However the Dometis that had just awoken was not the same Dometis who went to sleep in the exact same spot the previous night. Instead of his heart broken and yearning for his wife’s retuen, he now felt a deep hatred. A hatred that pulsed not only through his flesh and veins, but through his entire being. He reared up onto his hind legs and let out an all mighty roar in frustration. His mind raced, heart pounded, anger boiling and bubbling throughout his body. He scraped his vicious talons on the rock beneath him. Roaring again, he lashed and thrashed with his tail. A very unfortunate stalagmite burst into a million pieces, no match for an armoured, thick and muscular dragon tail. It was only when the dust and fragments settled that he came too his senses. He needed to fight, he needed to kill, he needed to disembowel, he needed to, needed to, he, he ... needed to calm down.
Dometis stopped, frozen like a statue. He slowly shut his eyes as he slowly drew in a lungful of air. He breathed deeply for a few minutes. It seemed to work as he felt the built up anger and frustration slowly dissipate and leave his body. Once he had a grip on himsel,f he opened his eyes and grumbled to himself, “I need help”
He made his way over to the edge of the cave, stretched his wings and leapt forward, propelling his entire body through the air. He flapped his wings a few times to gain speed, felt the air supporting him through his leathery wing membrane. He stopped flapping and barrel rolled, feeling the rush of adrenaline kick in. He chuckled to himself and glided along effortlessly. He vowed to himself that he would not waste anymore time wallowing in pity, he will start his quest for support immediately ... after breakfast.
