Ael contacts the candidate and informs him that the Elders of the Fellowship wish to meet with him, and that he should prepare himself to answer certain questions put to him by the Elders:
"Shawn, I come to you as an Elder of the Fellowship and summon you now before that august body. Prepare to meet them dressed simply, wearing the tag given to everyone when they enter the Fellowship. Tonight, you will stand before the Elders, for there a matter upon which none but you can speak."Right before he is tped to the Elders, Ael says:
"Turn your viewer to midnight and follow my instructions when you arrive. Do not move before I tell you to."
Upon his arrival, Ael directs him:
"Step into the center of the circle of light, Shawn Daysleeper, that all here may see and know you. Attend closely, the words now spoken to you. Take them to your heart, heed them carefully and with great forethought. You stand before the circle of Elders of the Fellowship, and such a matter as is before you tonight has not been seen ere now in the fellowship."Once Shawn is in the circle of light, Ael speaks again:
"Throughout time, thrones have been symbols of power, of authority, but with power and authority comes responsibility. Within this Fellowship, those who seat themselves upon thrones do not occupy them as symbols of power, but as reminders of the virtues which set an Elder apart, which imbues one with the qualities that are uniquely that of an Elder in this community."
Ael says:"Thus now speaks Belenos, Elder of Ea."
Belenos speaks:
Belenos moves into the light and takes her seat upon the first throne." The throne before me represents Reason.
Belanos
Reason is an essential quality for an Elder of Ea. Reason guides us in our choices, rather than being led by impulse, self-seeking or emotion. As we guide and nurture the role play and the players, reason must likewise guide and nurture our actions, thoughts and words. Reason is what helps keep balance in the role play. Reason is needed for us to rein in our own impulses and desires, bur rather, consider the thoughts, words and feeings of others. Reason gives us patience. Reason allows us to guide with a view to the good of all. "
Ael says: "Next speaks Fox, Eldar of Ea."
Fox speaks:
Fox moves into the light and takes his seat upon the second throne."The throne before me represents Loyalty.
Fox
Loyalty guides us to build a cohesive, co-operative Fellowship. Loyalty to our goals, our standards and our members is what a Fellowship is all about. Loyalty means we stand and work together even during difficult times. Loyalty means accepting the commitment made when joining this Fellowship. Loyalty means not letting our hearts or minds be moved by sweet words of deceit by outsiders, but rather keeping our eyes on, and our efforts focused toward what we, as a Fellowship seek to achieve."
Ael says: "Next speaks Lihan, Elder of Ea."
Lihan crashes, and Fifi, one of the Wardens, speaks for Lihan:
Lihan, returned, moves into the light and takes her seat upon the third throne."The throne before me represents Knowledge.
Lihan
"An Elder needs to know a wide range of topics -- about the source material, about roleplaying techniques and conventions, about the sims and the groups. An inquiring mind and an interest in learning are important assets. Since no one can ever know everything, and Elder should know where to find the information needed, and should always be open to learning new things.
"Of course, the purpose of this knowledge is to help the other players. An Elder needs to share his or her knowledge freely -- coaching players when they need help with their characters, and knitting together diverse role-play styles.
An Elder with this broad and generous knowledge will maintain a depth of understanding that is not satisfied with stereotypes, and will move beyond 'the way things have always been done' to find innovative approaches that keep the role-play fun for everyone."
Ael says: "Next speaks Ossy, Elder of Ea."
Ossy speaks:
"The throne before me represents Perspective.
Ossy
Perspective is the ability to see things for what they are, in whatever way a situation calls for it. Whether it be focusing in on one person, or seeing the overall picture. It's knowing where and when to see things, what to focus on and what to move past. It allows us to see what is missing, what might keep the roleplay fresh, and what allows the fellowship to blossom. Keeping an eye on the overall goals of the fellowship in the long run as well as the minutiae of every day experience with each other and within ourselves."
Ossy moves into the light and takes his seat upon the fifth throne, leaving the throne which would be facing the entrance of the structure open.
Ael says: "I am Aelkennyr, Elder of Ea.
Ael then steps into the light and takes a seat upon his throne."The throne before me represents selflessness. Above all, you must be willing to give OF yourself. The greatest gift we can give another is our time, our effort, our attention. It is this trait that sets an Elder apart from any other member of our community. By your willingness to give to others, you nurture all within our community. By your ability to set aside your wants and your desires and see to the wants and needs of others, you strengthen the bonds between us all. You become the glue that holds us firm. As you give of yourself, you teach others to give, too. Thus we are not just people with a common interest but at our very core a community...and friends."

Then Ael asks Shawn:
"Your deeds have not been unnoticed by us, nor has your kindness and willingness to work for the good of all. But now we ask you, who are candidate to sit among us as an Elder...after hearing the virtues which make one an Elder of Ea....were you found to be worthy, what virtue, what quality would you bring into our circle?"

Shawn Daysleeper:
"I bring cheerfulness and fun, I also bring understanding of differences such as language. I also bring knowledge of Tolkein's world. I also think I am responsible and helpful. I also respect others decisions and thoughts."

Ossy: (heh, you only need One. The one you think you most embody)
Ael speaks:
"Attend now the duties which would be expected of you. As Elder you would be expected to:Shawn Daysleeper: Yes I accept
1. ensure fairness and respect in rp and in community.
2. encourage, nurture and support both the rp and the rpers
3. present one's self as an role model of the traits desired within the community of the fellowship.
4. promote the fellowship through a professional manner to those both outside and inside the fellowship
5. To place the fellowship and its rp before any other rp group in his efforts, time, and activities.
Do you accept these responsibilities?"
Ael asks:
"What say the circle of Elders? Has Shawn Daysleeper proven his worth to sit among us as brother?"Belenos the Bad: Yes, I believe so.. *smiles*
AlacerFox: Yes I agree.
Ossy grins "More than adequately." gives Shawn a wink.
Fifi Wickentower: I am told that Lihan says 'Yes". (sl eating her chat)
Bosie Alchemi notices that Shawn is wearing the same outfit. I wondered if he would mention that he has good taste in clothing, too.
AelKennyr Rhiano: What says the Voice of Lihan, Elder of Ea?Fifi Wickentower: Yes!!!
