The Moon passed above Alqualonde and sent its silvery light to illuminate the dark and empty land that had once been home to the joyous and singing Teleri elves.... They'd been gone now for many cycles of Isil's passage, but as always, the driver of the Vessel, the Guardian of the Moon, looked down and mourned the last time he'd seen Alqualonde's king. Tilion had pleaded with Manwe Sulimo to allow him to help his beloved Olwe... his True Love... to recover from his long and terrible illness... but had been denied. The King of the Valar would not allow Tilion to interfere directly... there were others there to help him, Manwe said, and "you are too close... he must find his way out of the dark as he can, and with the help of those I have already sent. You have asked that Olwe's spirit be allowed to reside with you, should life leave his body and if that is to be so, he must be allowed to come to this trial through his own merits, if that is what is to be... whereas this trial refers to today's ritual."
“I will not direct my brother to turn him away from his doors, until he approaches them.”
